Situated in the heart of the Namib Desert, some 300 kilometres south
west of Windhoek and bordered on three sides by the Namib Naukluft Park,
Weltevrede Guest Farm is the home of abundant wildlife
and gateway to the famed Sossusvlei dunes and Sesriem Canyon.
Nestled amidst a spectacular mix of rugged mountains, shifting dunes, harsh gravel plains, dusty prehistoric river beds and endless Camel-thorn trees (Acacia Erioloba), you'll find Weltevrede a welcome oasis of friendly hospitality at the end of your adventuresome day. Accommodation consists of twelve separate bungalows, each en-suite and each with its own individual character. |
| Generally the number of guests is limited to ensure a very personalized
service. Afterall, with the name Weltevrede meaning fully content, our
aim is to ensure that you experience the full meaning in a totally
ecofriendly environment.
After 13 years of conservations (by the current owners) and water taken daily to various man-made watering holes, there are now a 1000+ Springbucks on the farm. Regular cheetah sightings have been made in the last few years. There are also jackals, leopards, mountain zebras, ground squirrels, kudus, gemsbok, ostriches, various insect & bird species to be seen. |

Facilities include:
12 rooms, each has porch area overlooking sunset & a small illuminated waterhole’;
airconditioners in all rooms; a sparkling pool;
delicious farm cuisine and true African hospitality tastefully served
in our traditional 'Lapa'. A selfcatering unit and camping is also available.
Adventure activities: 4x4 route on the farm(self-drive); unguided scenic walks; Sossusvlei and Sesriem day trips; Ballooning; Romantic picnic sunset hike. |
